10 లక్షల ఆశా వర్కర్లకు ‘గ్లోబల్ హెల్త్ లీడర్స్’ అవార్డు
భారత్లో పనిచేస్తున్న పది లక్షల మంది ఆశా వర్కర్లకు ప్రపంచ ఆరోగ్య సంస్థ అత్యున్నత అవార్డు దక్కింది. వీరిని గ్లోబల్ హెల్త్ లీడర్స్ వర్ణిస్తూ డబ్ల్యుహెచ్ఓ తన ప్రతిష్టాత్మక అవార్డుకు ఎంపిక చేసింది. గ్రామీణ ప్రాంతాల్లో ఆరోగ్య సేవలు అందించడం, కరోనా మహమ్మారి వ్యాప్తిని నిరోధించడంలో వీరి కృషి అపారమని డబ్ల్యుహెచ్ఓ పేర్కొంది. ఆశా వర్కర్లకు ఈ అవార్డు రావడంపై జపాన్లో ఉన్న ప్రధాని నరేంద్ర మోదీ హర్షం వ్యక్తం చేస్తూ.. వారికి శుభాకాంక్షలు తెలిపారు.
